SAB Happy Hellos

I went to an all day scrabooking event yesterday. I did scrapbook, really I did, but I have to confess I did more card making than scrapbooking LOL.

With this card I used a stamp set from Sale-A-Bration that's on right now. I got this set for free and so could you !

Recipe - Lots of Thoughts free stamp set, Old Olive cardstock, Old Olive prints designer paper, Whisper White cardstock, River Rock cardstock, Basic Black ink, Old Olive ribbon, circle punch and scallop punch.

I punched the Whisper White cardstock with the scallop punch and put it behind the other Old Olive designer paper scallop and put some pop dots underneath so the Happy Hellos wouldn't get lost on the card.

How I store my rubber stamps cont ....

Well I have to say that I think I might rethink the way I mount my stamps. Although reusing the foam that Stampin' Up! ships with the stamps is a great idea (and a money saver too) I think I might use something like EZmount from now on. I'm not crazy about the idea of spending more money but I think it'll be worth it. After all EZmount isn't really all that expensive.
The reason for the change, well when I reuse the SU! foam, I find that no matter what I do the back of the stamp is sticky. Not really sticky but sticky enough that it leaves a tiny bit of stickness on the cd case. I find that EZmount is not sticky at all and still sticks beautifully to the acrylic blocks. So although it'll cost a little more money, from now on any new stamps I get I'll be mounting them with EZmount.

How I store my rubber stamps

This is how I store my rubber stamps. I bought these cd cases at Wal-Mart. I just took out the black center piece that usually holds the cd. Also make sure you do not buy the slim cd cases, they’re just too thin.

First I make sure I have everything I need. Unmounted rubber stamps, Craft & Rubber scissors (sold by Stampin’ Up!) and an empty cd case.

Carefully peel the rubber from the foam that it originally came on.

Peel the paper from the other side of the foam. You will now have a very sticky side of foam (that you just took the paper off of) and a not so sticky side of the foam (that you took the rubber off of).

Adhere the rubber to the very sticky side of the foam.

Cut around your image, taking care not to cut too close as to cut the stamp but don’t leave too much rubber around the image or it will stamp messy. Always make straight cuts.

Your stamp is almost ready to put into the cd case except that the foam is still a little too sticky. So you now need to stick it to fabric of some sort to get it to be less sticky. I usually use my pant leg. Once you can see that it’s not so sticky anymore you can put it in the cd case. Arrange them however you like.

I scan the sticker sheet and scale it down a bit if needed so it will fit into the cd case. Label the side of the case with the name of the stamp set and you’re ready to go !

Embrace Your Wish

I saw a picture of a card I really liked, I switched it around a bit (Okay I switched it around a lot LOL) and here it is !

Recipe - River Rock cardstock, Basic Black cardstock, watercolour paper, Ginger Blossom Designer paper, Basic Black ink, watercolour pencils, Groovy Guava ribbon, Short and Sweet stamp set and Embrace Life stamp set. All products used are Stampin' Up!

From Sale-A-Bration 2008 !

This card was made for a friend's birthday. It turned out so well I just had to share.
Recipe - Cool Caribbean cardstock, So many Scallops stamps set, white grosgrain ribbon, Blue Bayou ink, paint chip (Wal-Mart). All products Stampin' Up! except paint chip.

This box measures 5" x 3" x 1.5" not including the ribbon handle. Inside is a box of 3 Lindor Chocolates (I'd like to see you make these boxes and not eat the chocolates!).

Recipe for box - Pixie Pink cardstock, pixie pink classic ink, Versamark ink, classic black ink, Stampin' emboss powder white, Embrace Life stamp set, True Friend stamp set, Short & Sweet stamp set, (white gel pen non-SU, small circle of velcro under flap non-SU).

I just loved this little box of chocolates and of course there isn't a template so I made my own. I cut cardstock about 1/4" larger than the box on each side, I scored the cardstock so it would fold nicely around the box with a 1.5" fold over the front. I laid the cover flat and stamped the leaves image all over it with Pixie Pink ink. I stamped the True Friend (flower?) on a separate piece of Pixie Pink cardstock with Versamark, embossed with the embossing powder, set the powder with heat then cut out the image. I put little decorative lines on the flap with the white gel pen. I then attached the embossed flower with adhesive to the flap. I then decided where it was best to have the handle and I punched small holes on the top of the box, then threaded the ribbon through the holes and tied it inside the box so the knot is now hidden. Last but not least I stamped love you on the bottom right corner with classic black ink.

Valentine's bag

Okay the picture went AWOL. I'll find it and put it back .... hopefully

This Valentine's day bag was made with Stampin' Up! products too ! It measures 5" x 3.5" x 1". Inside is a hershey's chocolate covered marshmallow in the shape of a heart. YUM !! Want to make one? Valentine's Boxes !

These are just the cutest little boxes ! Each one has 4 Hershey's Kisses inside. The each measure 2" x 2" x 1". All the papers, stamps and ribbon are from Stampin' Up!.
